Sombulance are a legendary Southsea skate-punk 5-piece who combine intricate melodic guitars and a breakneck pace with soaring vocals and reflective lyrics.
Their 2017 EP Lifer is 6-tracks of blistering double-time punk which perfectly captures the raw energy of the band’s live performance. It’s laden with riffs, melodic hooks and harmonies that’ll be looping round in your head for days. The record was released at Punk Rock Holiday, and the band have also had the pleasure of sharing stages with Strung Out, A Wilhelm Scream, No Trigger, Set Your Goals and Swingin Utters.
The band released their sterling debut full length A Cynic’s Response in 2010, receiving an enthusiastic response on two mainland European tours, before going on hiatus due to life getting in the way. Sombulance had a brilliant musical resurgence in 2017 with the release of their 6-track EP Lifer on Lockjaw and Charlie’s Big Raygun Records.
Guitarist, Ant Harrison, had always been keen to do more with Sombulance, and when vocalist Dean Harwood joined the band in 2016 new life was injected into the band. This had a snowball effect on gathering new members: Sombulance now boasts Chris Earle on bass, plus Misgivings’ Will Pearce and Almeida’s dummer, Marc Morey.
