Geek Peek Special: Wolfrik

I have always been a fan of super simple rigs. I run a Les Paul Junior into a 1981 Marshall JMP 50w (2204) via an Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer and a Korg Pitchblack tuner, that is it. I’ve had my Jr from new and made a couple of changes. I prefer the fatter sound of the USA P90 to the H90 that ships with the Billie Joe model, so this has been changed. I have also swapped the scratch plate to tortoise shell instead of black, because rock n roll.

Diggin’ Thru The Lockbox with Tom West from Almeida

They’re a bit like if a robot had a root around in my brain and designed a band based on the bands I listen to most. Technical, progressive, but still retaining that melodic hardcore edge.

Lockjaw Top 10s – 2018

2018 has been an incredible year for punk rock! At Lockjaw we’ve had the pleasure of releasing new music from Fair Do’s, Drones, Misgivings, The Affect Heuristic, Money Left To Burn, Waterweed and Fullcount, plus represses of Rebuke and Darko. We’ve been even more excited to hear some of the amazing records produced, so we thought we’d share our Top 10s with you.

Geek Peek: Greg Legarand from Bare Teeth

I used to have two main axes: a full mahogany Navigator Les Paul Custom and a Stratocaster-like Blade RH-4. Both of them have been used and abused and heavily modified. Both are fitted with Bareknuckle Nailbomb bridge pickups. I used to play the Les Paul live, and play the RH-4 in studio.

Lockjaw Team Update: December

The most rewarding thing about this thriving music scene that we’re a part of is meeting people who share our enthusiasm for all things live and loud. So that you can come and grab us for a chat, we thought we ought to tell you where we are!

We’ll be bringing you a monthly update from the Lockjaw Team with our recommendations, tribulations and gig schedules.

Geek Peek: Marshall from Money Left To Burn / Fat Religion

My weapon of choice is a MusicMan S.U.B. 1 Guitar HH emergenza special edition, some friends of mine won back in the days while taking part in a band contest (around 2006). Neither of them wanted to play it, so I got it stupidly cheap…lucky Marshall!!!

Geek Peek: Ryan Price from Fights & Fires

I’d always loved Les Paul double cuts. In the early 2000s when everyone was playing PRSs, the Les Paul standard double cut was a cheaper alternative (still about £1000+ but still a cheaper alternative).

I’d heard Gibson were putting out yellow double cuts for super cheap, so I saved up and got one! I loved the matt finish, it made it easier to play! The budget also meant that it had crap paint, which wears away easily, which is why it now looks older than it is!
