Fights & Fires stream new single ‘Pocket Full Of Flowers’

Worcester-based punk-rock quintet, Fights And Fires, release their new single, ‘Pocket Full Of Flowers’ through European punk rock label, Lockjaw Records on December 11th.

‘Pocket Full Of Flowers’ continues the story of vocalist, Philip Cox’s experiences through love, happiness, loss and starting again – A theme that has been prevalent in the band’s songwriting and storytelling throughout the years. Musically, the single see’s the band resume their new melodic route, with the foundations set with the 2019 EP ‘Kebaptism’.

Speaking on the new single, vocalist Philip Cox said, “The song is about the naivety of love, and how focused we can be on it cement our happiness. I was in the process of getting a divorce and couldn’t help but feel detached from the whole situation. When we are children we crave for our parents love, and as adults we seek that in a partner. So, just as a token gift of a flower to a mother is put in a pocket to wilt away, a wedding ring can too end up in a sock draw wasting away. For the first time in my adult life I felt like I could start again and build a new better version of me.”
